Ajman Digital Government achieves 80% digital transformation of 30 services in 100 days (3 July 2017)

Ajman's Digital Government has completed 80 percent of the total number of digital transformation across 30 services in various local departments in the past 100 days. 

Ohood Ali Abdullah Al Shuhail, Director-General of Ajman Digital Government, said that they are currently working on digitising their remaining targets in these 30 services, before the end of July 2017 deadline. 

The Ajman Digital Government is implementing the directives of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and the vision of H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, with the support of H.H Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, to complete the digital transformation of all government services in the emirate, to be available at all hours through simple procedures and innovative technologies, she added. 

Al Shuhail explained that the 30 services to be digitally transformed during the next month include five services in the Properties and Real Estate Regulation Department, four in the Economic Development Department, six in each of the Ajman Police Department and the Ajman Free Zone, four in the Ajman Transportation Department, three in the Ajman Municipality, and two in the Ports and Customs. 

She said that the Ajman Digital Government has five strategic goals that it began implementing at the beginning of 2017, which consists of achieving a 100 percent digital transformation of government services by the end of 2018, as well as the digital transformation of joint government services by the end of the same year. 

The five goals also include the full adoption of an 80 percent level of all digital services in the emirate by 2021, as well as the total digital transformation of all 30-priority government services within 100 days while upgrading their financial capacity by at least 20 percent by the end of 2021, the Director-General continued, adding that the main digital transformation plan of Ajman Digital Government 2017-2022 was developed to provide a roadmap for the digital transformation of local government services over five years. 

The plan lists the major principles to be followed by government authorities, to identify their digital transformation priorities, as well as a range of strategic initiatives based on four main pillars, which include providing exceptional customer experiences, running an efficient paperless government, creating empowering policies, and continuing education and innovation.
