The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department completed a project, titled, the "Zayed Murals," to celebrate the Year of Zayed, which commemorates the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who created a bright future for his people and led with wisdom and vision, making the UAE a beacon of glory and prosperity.

Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector at the Department and Chairman of its Year of Zayed Committee, said that the department completed the project in one month, under the direct orders of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department, and the monitoring of Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Department.

The project decorated the emirate with murals of Sheikh Zayed, who presented a leading example to humanity and wrote, with letters of light, a story of a father who spared no efforts to make every citizen and resident of the UAE happy, he added.

Al Muhairi stated that the department delegated the task of supervising the project to a team of qualified employees, who communicated with professional artists to complete the murals with levels of professionalism befitting the stature of Sheikh Zayed. The team chose three important locations, including the Sheikh Khalifa Bridge intersection, which is the meeting point of major and central streets in Ajman, he further added.

He explained that the first mural includes the logo of the Year of Zayed in green, which represents the reforestation initiatives of Sheikh Zayed and his constant and diligent work to increase the number of green areas in the country. The artist, Majid Ahmed Al Saudi, completed the entire mural in a record time while the second mural, drawn by artist Rami Al Zaghwi, who drew the largest logo of the Year of Zayed in graffiti style, is the largest of the murals and contains several abstract elements about the future envisioned by Sheikh Zayed for the nation. The third mural, by the artist, Majid Ahmed, is a portrait of Sheikh Zayed, with the sentence, "the true resource is the resource of men."

Al Muhairi said that the team closely monitored the completion of the three murals while noting that work will continue to install lighting and new aesthetic elements.
