ATDD Will Showcase Attractions That Make Ajman A Must-Visit Destination For Tourists At WTM London (31 October 2018)

Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) will be heading to the United Kingdom to participate at the 39th World Travel Market (WTM) from November 5th to 7th. ATDD will be highlighting Ajman’s attractions, which are drawing an increasing number of domestic and international tourists to the emirate. One of the travel and tourism industry’s leading international events, WTM – which will be held at Excel London – will welcome around 5,000 exhibitors from 182 countries and regions.

ATDD attends WTM in order to showcase Ajman’s growing selection of tourism attractions. Just a 30-minute drive from Dubai Airport, this emerging tourism destination’s developments and new indoor and outdoor activities are helping to put the emirate on the map. This year, hospitality offerings expanded with the opening of the Radisson Blu Hotel Ajman and the Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche. The Travel Market attracts exhibitors and visitors from around the globe, which makes it the ideal place to highlight all Ajman has to offer.

The ATDD’s delegation will be headed by HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General, who said: “ATDD’s participation in recent Travel Markets has proven very fruitful. Ajman is flourishing as a tourism destination with an increasing number of attractions that celebrate our emirate’s rich heritage – including Ajman Museum and the upcoming Heritage District – and unique environmental features, such as guided kayak tours of the mangroves at Al Zorah Nature Reserve. WTM provides the perfect platform to meet with future partners who will help us achieve our target of welcoming 800,000 visitors per year by 2021.”

ATDD plans to captivate visitors at Stand ME540 with a video wall highlighting Al Zorah, a major flagship project with unparalleled views of mangroves, white sand beaches and azure lagoons. The Al Zorah Marina, a 100,000 square metre creek-side development, includes a recreational park and entertainment options for people of all ages. There will also be a dinosaur at ATDD’s stand to introduce Al Zorah Marina’s upcoming Dino Live, one of the world’s largest indoor dinosaur exhibitions with over 30 life-sized animated dinosaurs, a planetarium and a 9D cinema.

ATDD is participating at the WTM with Ajman Beach Hotel; Ajman Hotel; Ajman Pearl; Ajman Saray, a Luxury Collection Resort; Dino Live; Fairmont Ajman; Lama Tours; Miracle Tourism Destination Touristic Services; Musandam Sea Adventure Travel & Tourism; The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah; and Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche.

Efforts to promote the Emirate and diversify its tourist markets have been very successful as evidenced by the impressive 14% growth in guest numbers in the first half of 2018. In the same period, total revenue from the tourism and hospitality sector increased to AED 242 million.

The UK is an important market for Ajman, as reflected in ATDD’s recent announcement about its first overseas office, which will introduce the destination to the UK and Irish travel trade.

This year, 51,000 senior travel and tourism professionals, government ministers and members of the press from across the globe are expected to attend WTM London to network, negotiate and learn about the latest trends.
