Ajman Media City Free Zone Concludes India Road Show (30 December 2018)

The Ajman Media City Free Zone concluded a successful series of investment forums in three Indian cities, as part of its global trade expansion strategy, and created strong interest for investment among key trade bodies, associations and potential investors across India.

Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashemi, CEO of Ajman Media City Free Zone, led the delegation, and Rishi Somaiyah, Commercial Counselor and Nasser Rashid, Head of Licensing and Labor Affairs, accompanied Al Hashemi to India.

To fulfil the strategic objectives, the delegation organised Investment Forums in the three core metropolitan cities of India, Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai. Several leading trade bodies and business associations in India collaborated with the free zone, and senior officials and experts from local business communities welcomed the delegation and guests at these forums.

Regarding the forum, Al Hashemi said, "Our delegation focused on efforts to grow India’s investments in the UAE. We organised a series of Investment Forums as a key element of a comprehensive outreach campaign in India, which is aligned with the strategic mission of Ajman Media City Free Zone.

"The investment forums were designed to showcase the capabilities of the free zone, the products and services which utilise technology to offer remote services and support, and also highlighted the free zone's readiness to provide all facilities to prospective investors from India," Al Hashemi added.

The roadshow began with an Investment Forum in the city of Chennai, with the attendance of more than 100 investors. In Chennai, the free zone forum was supported by trade associations, such as the International Chamber of Commerce - India and India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The delegation was welcomed by leading Chennai based business leader Jawahar Vadivelu, President of International Chamber of Commerce - India.

Al Hashemi emphasised the vision of AMCFZ management, which is committed to supporting investment from key markets in the UAE. He added that the trade mission to India had taken a significant step in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations, with a focus on the key pillars of digital media, media technologies and innovation and entrepreneurship.

With such policies, AMCFZ has become successful in lowering the cost of doing business in the UAE, as well as making it an attractive global centre for business owners. The Indian business community has shown keen interest and appreciation in the investor-friendly initiatives offered by the Ajman Media City Free Zone.
