With the participation of Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD), ATDD concluded Ajman Run 2020. The event, which ATDD organised in collaboration with Al Qudra Sports Management, was held on Friday 14th February at Al Zorah. More than 660 male and female contestants took part in the Run’s three categories – 2.5km, 5km and 10km.

The closing ceremony was attended by a huge audience comprised of people of different nationalities and ages. The top three winners in each category were honoured at the end of the Run. Prizes with a total value of more than AED13,000 were distributed to the 24 male and female winners of the 10km and 5km categories. The winners of different age groups who participated in the race were presented with gold, silver and bronze medals, and commemorative medals of participation were distributed to all participants at the finish line.

HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General, said, “With the support of the wise leadership, the Emirate of Ajman has proved that it can organise a variety of activities and events. This explains the great success of Ajman Run 2020; this year, the Ajman Run attracted more participants and visitors than in previous years.”

His Excellency thanked all sponsors and partners, especially Ajman Police Headquarters, which took all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the participants during the event in addition to managing traffic to prevent any traffic jams or bottlenecks in the area. 

ATDD chose Al Zorah as the venue for the Run because of its atmosphere, which has made it one of the Emirate’s most attractive areas for families and visitors.

Ajman Run 2020, which was organised in cooperation with strategic partners, Ajman Police, Al Zorah, Basmat Baghdad Medical Center, Thumbay University Hospital and Amina Hospital, has become an important event for ATDD after the great success of previous versions of the event in terms of participation and public interest.
