The Ajman Free Zone (AFZ)reaffirmed its rising influence as a key driver in building a vibrant business environment when it isawarded the 7thplaceat the Global Free Zone of the Year Awards 2021published by fDI Intelligence magazine, a division of the Financial Times group. This inclusion inthe highly coveted annual ranking of the world’s best free zones recognizesAFZ’sgrowth and performance,sustainability initiatives, facilities upgrade, trust from business partners, as well as increased efficiency through automation of business processes.

Along with this global distinction, AFZ also received the following major awards, Highly Commended Free Zone award forregional level;First place for Small and Medium Enterprises Tenant award- Regional, and Commended in the Large Tenants award- Regional. It is also given an Honorable Mention for Sustainability Reporting based onthe frameworks of sustainability investments and internal governance in compliancewith international standards on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESGs).

Further, AFZwonfirst placeat the Small and Medium Enterprises Tenant -Middle East categoryfor its valuable support to businesses especially during the challenging times. The category was focused on a combination of growth and performance, and finalists are scored based on support offered to SMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ajman Free Zone launched various measures of support to ensure business continuity such aseconomic stimulus packages for its members and investors who were affected by the crisis. Customized stimulus packages and freelancers’ packages were also created to support other professionals during the pandemic.

In addition, the free zone wasalsocommended for the Large Tenant Award in the regional levelfor having a high number of large tenants that chose AFZ in the past 12 months. AFZcaters to the needs and requirements of over 9,000 companies, withnumerous partners from local, regional and global business communities.
