Ramada Ajman Teams Up With Al Ihsan Charity Association To Distribute Iftar Meals (4 August 2013)
Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, a premier destination for business and leisure travellers, recently teamed up with Al Ihsan Charity Association to help distribute packed meals to limited-income families and individuals in the emirates of Ajman and Sharjah during the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative is aimed at helping members of the community who have limited resources to provide for their daily iftars and also to avoid food wastage during the holy month. The food will come from the hotel’s restaurants and from iftar parties and other hotel functions where there is an excessive amount of food. The team will ensure that safety standards will be met during the collection and distribution process.
Iftikhar Hamdani, General Manager, said, “During the holy month of Ramadan, the hotel food wastage increases by 20 percent to 25 percent compared to the normal days of operation. We want to avoid this so we decided to team up with Al Ihsan Charity Association to make sure that our food will not go to waste by giving it to our less privileged people. We are confident that we can reach many families with this initiative and help them especially during the month of Ramadan when we should practice kindness and generosity.”
Ramada will carefully pack the foods and will be collected by Al Ihsan Charity Association to properly distribute to people in need in Ajman and Sharjah. Hamdani along with Mohamed El Aziri, Food & Beverage Manager and Mr. Ammar Al Haj Ali, Director of P.R. & Media of Al Ihsan Charity Association will lead the collection and distribution process.
