ATDD Announces Q1 Tourism Statistics In Ajman (5 May 2015)
Revenues of Q1 were AED 90 million, compared to AED 77 million in the same period in 2014, according to ATDD General Manager Faisal Al Nuaimi.
The number of hotel nights was doubled to 440,000 nights in Q1 of 2015, compared to only 240,000 nights in Q1 of 2014, he said, adding that Asian and African nationalities were high on the list of guest nights, followed by GCC nationals, and then other Arab citizens.
The number of visitors to Ajman in the first quarter of 2015 reached 120,000, Al Nuaimi said, noting that hotel occupancy rate increased to 70 percent, compared to only 56 percent in the same period in 2014.
Meanwhile, the ATDD general manager said the number of hotel establishments (hotels and hotel apartments) in Ajman reached 35 in the first quarter of 2015, compared to 30 in the same period in 2014.
