DED-Ajman signs research agreement (17 September 2018)

The Department of Economic Development of Ajman has signed, at its main headquarters, a cooperation agreement with the Excellence and Creativity Consulting Co.

The agreement relates to conducting research on the emirate’s industrial exports and improving the efficiency and quality of information and data provided to customers.

The department also aims, through the new partnership, to promote the emirate’s industrial exports through creating a database of active companies, providing information on relevant economic activities, stimulating the business sector, and showcasing promising investment opportunities in Ajman.

Regarding the agreement, Ahmed Mahmoud Al Hammadi, Assistant Director-General for Organisational Support at the Department, said, "The cooperation agreement with the Excellence and Creativity Consulting Co. stems from the department’s desire to create a fair investment and business environment, and achieve the highest levels of competitiveness to attract more investments to the emirate, through offering the required business information and data and introducing customers to the most promising local investment opportunities."

Zahra Ali Al Bannai, Director of Planning and Business Development at the Department, said that the cooperation agreement is a key addition to the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the sustainability of the emirate’s economic sector, promote economic activity, and provide useful information and data.

She noted that the agreement’s importance is due to the launch of a study on Ajman’s industrial exports, which will create a database that includes a list of local export companies and their products. It will also provide information on leading exporters and markets, she added.

According to the agreement, both parties will gather data and information for the study and facilitate the processes of gathering them, in cooperation with relevant public and private sector authorities. They will also analyse data on the emirate’s industrial exports, as well as conduct interviews with relevant authorities and stakeholders. The study is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
