Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman & Chairman of the Executive Council, Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) organised the  ‘UAE jet ski marathon -  Ajman Round’, the first of its kind in Ajman, which concluded on Friday. The slogan for the marathon was ‘We Accept the Challenge’. HH Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, ATDD Chairman, participated in the event and came in first place in the begginers faction, which was held on Ajman Corniche. 38 contestants competed in the rigorous event, where Salman Yousef Al Awadi took first place in the professional category.

The race was attended by a large crowd including families who lined up at the corniche to watch the marathon.

The marathon was held in cooperation with ATDD’s strategic partners - Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club, Ajman’s General Directorate of Civil Defense, Ajman Police General Command, and the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman. The following sponsors provided valuable contributions: Ajman Free Zone; Ajman Media City Free Zone; Almarai Company; Bukhari Water Sports; Thumbay Hospital; Amina Hospital; and Emirates Vision Media Network.

HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General, said, “This marathon was organised as part of ATDD’s calendar of events to boost leisure, tourism and sports activities in order to encourage domestic tourism, which will have a positive impact on hotel occupancy and on tourism in Ajman in general.
