Ajman’s Tourist And Recreational Attractions Draw Visitors During The Winter (12 November 2019)
ATDD Intensifies Efforts to Attract Families
Reflecting the success of Ajman Tourism Development Department’s (ATDD) marketing campaigns and promotional programmes, national and resident families have been flocking to Ajman’s tourist and recreational attractions, especially during weekends.
Ajman’s tourist attractions are drawing an increasing share of the families and individuals who choose to spend their holidays in the UAE rather than travelling abroad. The Emirate’s diverse programmes and well-developed infrastructure have made Ajman one of the region’s most important tourist destinations. With its rapid development and growth in tourism, Ajman has become an example for many cities by overcoming challenges successfully and attracting new segments of tourists.
With heritage villages from a variety of countries, Ajman Festival Land is an integrated tourist and entertainment destination with activities, events, artists and folklore in addition to local and international shopping fairs, restaurants, cafes and a permanent games area.
Drawing visitors throughout the year, Ajman Museum, which dates back to the 18th century, is one of the most important tourist attractions in the Emirate. It showcases the traditional local lifestyle with pictures of everyday life and a variety of archaeological and historical finds, including a wonderful display of Emirati weapons and ancient manuscripts. The town of Manama attracts the majority of the Emirate's tourists during the winter and it is considered one of the most important tourist destinations in Ajman. With a small fort that was converted into a museum displaying local archaeology, it is near Al Naseem Nature Reserve. The scenic town of Masfout, which can be accessed via mountain roads, features soft sand dunes that are one of the largest and most important tourist attractions in Ajman.
City Centre Ajman is the preferred destination for families with its large selection of high-end shops featuring local and international products and offering something for everyone. The mall includes play areas and entertainment for children in addition to distinctive restaurants, cinemas and cafes that provide tourists with unmatched service.
Visitors and families take their children to enjoy the stunning scenery and variety of birds and wildlife at Al Zorah Nature Reserve, and to Ajman’s many iconic tourist attractions.
HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General, said, “ATDD continues to implement projects in order to develop and strengthen the Emirate of Ajman’s main pillars and tourism offerings. By helping to attract an increasing number of families and individuals from Ajman and other emirates, this plays a key role in achieving the tourism-related aims of Ajman Vision 2021.”
His Excellency added, “Despite the heat, many attractions in Ajman experience an influx of families every day. The most popular attractions include Ajman’s beaches, Ajman Museum, Al Zorah Nature Reserve, Masfout Castle and City Centre Ajman, which receives vast numbers of families during the winter. In addition to shopping, the mall offers entertainment, food and other services that suit a variety of different tastes and nationalities.”
