Ajman University’s College Of Engineering And Information Technology Secures ABET Accreditation For Three Programs (26 August 2024)
Ajman University has successfully received international accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in the United States for three of its programs within the College of Engineering and Information Technology: Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering.
Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, emphasized that the university continuously pursues both local and international accreditations for its programs to align with its strategic goals of achieving excellence in education and enhancing its reputation. He highlighted that ABET accreditation is a strong indicator of the University's adherence to global academic standards and its commitment to delivering high-quality programs. This accreditation ensures that students and graduates are well-prepared for the job market and have enhanced opportunities for professional success.
It is worth noting that the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) evaluates engineering and technology education programs worldwide to ensure their quality based on specific criteria. These criteria include program curricula, faculty competence, student performance, facilities, and institutional support, as well as other elements related to the quality and effectiveness of the educational process.
Ajman University's College of Engineering and Information Technology offers 8 undergraduate programs, including: Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, the college offers a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence.
