Ramada Hotels & Suites Ajman Organises Fund Raiser For Victims Of Catastrophic Floods In Pakistan (7 September 2010)
Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, – a premier destination for professionals and leisure seekers, recently organised a successful fund raiser to help victims of the catastrophic floods in Pakistan. The devastating floodwaters have washed away villages and wrecked roads and bridges creating havoc in that country.
To step up its relief efforts the hotel sold biryani boxes during the Sharjah Ramadan Fair 2010 at the Sharjah Expo Centre. The Ramada Ajman pavilion amassed a large amount which was donated to Syed Ali Smir Bukhari, Head of Pakistan Association Relief Centre the same day. Syed Ali Samir assured that the amount will be given directly to the victims through the association’s network in Pakistan. The association has been receiving donations from all over UAE and sending humanitarian assistance to flood victims such as food items, tents and medicines.
Shehab Lotfi, General Manager, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, said: “According to the recent United Nations news three million people have been affected by floods in Pakistan and most of them still do not have access to food or medicines. Aiming to help troubled humanity, the management mobilized the entire Ramada staff who dedicated their time and effort, from food preparation to selling, in making this event a success. We believe that as a well established organisation in the hospitality industry, our business is not just to make money but also return to the ailing communities in need. We are also extremely thankful to Mr Saleem Sheikh, Sharjah Expo Exhibition Manager, who gave free space to us for this noble cause.”
Shehab also showed his profound gratitude for the role played by Radio Spice, Channel 4 and ARN Al Khaleejia, and ARY Digital for making this campaign a success. Mohammed Al Hayyas, a local student volunteered to participate in the drive and made announcements in Arabic, thus encouraging everyone to donate. The activity was a huge success and the Ramada Ajman management has vowed to continue its efforts in the coming days too.
