Ajman Hotel and Hotel Apartments Revenue reaches AED 121 Million and Recorded 12% Growth in Q1, 2017 (29 April 2017)

The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) participated in the Arabian Travel Market exhibition (ATM) which was held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 24-27 of April 2017. 
 
During its participation at the ATM, the ATDD held a series of meetings with major travel and tourism operators and a group of investors and businessmen to promote the Emirate of Ajman as a unique tourist and investment destination in the region and beyond.
 
The ATDD organised and participated in a series of activities and exhibitions to promote its tourist attractions and highlight the major tourism and investment projects developed by the department to attract more tourists to the Emirate. 
 
His excellency Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, general manager of Ajman Tourism Development Department said: “We aimed to reveal the latest updates related to the unique ongoing investment projects being developed under the supervision of the department. These projects include hospitality facilities and world class hotels which will be opened in the near future. We also announced the number of tourist arrivals in the first quarter of 2017 and the rate of increase in tourist arrivals from all over the world to Ajman”.
 
Al Geziry stated: “Ajman hotels and apartments welcomed more than 134,716 guests. The Emirate hotels and hotel apartments received 28,500 guests from the UAE, 26,089 guests from the GCC countries, 21,949 guests from the other Arab countries, 29,205 guests from Asia and Africa and 14,118 guests from Europe. Ajman hotels, resorts and hotel apartment’s revenue reached AED 121 Million and recorded a growth of 12% in the first quarter of 2017, and Ajman museum received 9,203 visitors in the first quarter of the year”. 
 
The ATDD promoted the Emirate of Ajman in the ATM. Representatives from Ajman’s hospitality, tourism and development sector were present at the department’s stand including The Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah, the first five-star resort in the Emirate as well as Al Zorah Development Private Company, Al Zorah Golf Club, Ajman Saray, Fairmont Ajman, The Ajman Palace Hotel, Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche, Ajman National Travel Agency (ANTA), Ajman Beach Hotel, Zarya Wellness and Musandam Adventure Travel & Tourism.
 
ATDD’s participation in the ATM 2017 contributed to achieving its objectives and strategies for 2021, and was in line with Ajman Vision which aims to make the Emirate one of the world’s top tourist destinations in the future, by strengthening relations and building partnerships with key tour operators.  

Imad Dana, CEO of Al Zorah Development Company as our co-participant said: “This year at ATM, Al Zorah along with ATDD welcomed an impressive number of visitors including key investors, who showed strong interest in our project. We showcased Al Zorah’s latest offerings which not only meet the demands of high-end travellers and residents alike but also lift the urban framework of the entire region. Ahmed Kamal, director of sales at Ajman Saray and one of Ajman Tourism co-participants at the ATM commented on the success of the exhibition: “The ATM has shown a great improvement from last year, with an increase in the number of visitors. It has provided an excellent platform for networking. Twenty two appointments were held and new tour operators are coming on board. Furthermore, with Europe picking up and the Russia market growing double digits, it has shown a huge amount of potential for the Ajman tourism sector in general. Overall, ATDD has done a great job in promoting the destination and we are pleased with the outcome achieved”. 
 
Khaled Al-Idrissi, cluster director of sales and marketing at Fairmont Ajman said: "Our participation in the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) pavilion is an important opportunity to showcase our tourism business and services to Ajman visitors. We were pleased to be present at this exhibition, which is one of the most important tourist platforms to promote the Emirate of Ajman as a unique destination for tourists and visitors to the Emirate.”
