Ajman Port

Ajman Port is ranked highly in providing the best possible services and facilities to all categories of investors and businessmen as well as to the companies’ resident in the Free Zone within the Port. The seaport is fully equipped to receive all kinds of vessels and tankers as well as handle containers and the different types of general merchandize from all over the world.
The Port provides its services to the containers and shipments of commodities through 8 wharfs set up to cope with the expansion of industrial and business activities in the Emirate. Outgoing and incoming containers and commodities are stored in warehouses specially constructed for various types of items. The seaport’s storage area totals 43,200 sq.m. which is fully covered. There are also special arrangements for handling certain type of shipments such as chemicals, fertilizers and waste paper.
The Port Authority also has two dry docks for ship repairing and maintenance. A special wharf is allocated for receiving boats and small ships. There is a floating crane for lifting shipments weighing upto 5000 tons, extended offshore up to 70 meters distance. The port provides numerous facilities to the businessmen. Free storage days are increased for certain types of cargo as well as reduction of custom duties by special arrangement between the Port authority and the respective cargo operators. Dhows and wooden boats are exempted from payment of landing fees. The authority also undertakes clearing functions by providing the necessary cranes and manpower for cargo loading and unloading.
The port also provides other services such as landing and sailing, stevedoring, guidance, telecommunication, equipment transport, maintenance, security, inspection and other port services. Furthermore, custom duties are not levied on heavy equipment, machinery and raw material imported for starting new industrial projects in Ajman provided that 51% of shares of the importing firms are held by UAE nationals and that the project is licensed by the Ministry of Finance and Industry.
